Bilal Lakhani becomes first Pakistani in the PR Week 40 under 40
He is the first Pakistani to be featured in the coveted 40 under 40 award from PR Week. Fahad Qadir of Coca-Cola was the first Pakistani in the 40 under 40 award from Campaign Asia-Pacific.
Bilal Lakhani has been featured among the list of communications professionals in the annual 40 under 40 lists published by PR Week.
While he is the first Pakistani-born communication professional to be featured on the 2021 list from PR Week, Fahad Qadir of Coca-Cola was the first Pakistani to be featured in the 40 under 40 list published by Campaign Asia-Pacific.
Both PR Week and Campaign Asia-Pacific are owned by the Haymarket Media Group.
Lakhani’s success is, in part, a matter of numbers and impressive results, including a record earned media performance for Pantene and a revitalized brand strategy for Head & Shoulders.
His approach to social media influencers, however, has had an impact across P&G. Lakhani designed and deployed a new end-to-end influencer management tool that provides guidance on every step in the influencer process: recruitment, negotiation, content review, and measurement.
As P&G’s authority, across brands and regions, on influencer best practices, Lakhani has been recognized by the American multinational consumer goods corporation as a coach of the year for his commitment to mentoring employees and has also been a leader in the company’s Muslim network.
His TEDx Talk on “50 Shades of Islam,” given while he was working for P&G in Geneva, is one example of his work countering Islamophobia.
